Empathy Map

Mapping Simran’s thoughts, actions, and emotions revealed critical pain points like missed appointments, prescription confusion, and time loss—guiding product design.

I created persona of Simran, a busy professional who frequently visits doctors, and faces common healthcare hurdles—booking appointments, missing follow-ups, and managing prescriptions. These profiles helped guide feature decisions across the platform.

Survey

I conducted a tightly focused survey with 10+ urban users—including students, working professionals, and caregivers—capturing hard numbers on booking delays, doctor discovery, emergency issues, and medicine access pain-points.

Interview

I spoke with 7 individuals across metro cities, including professionals with chronic conditions and young patients managing busy schedules. These conversations uncovered frustrations around doctor waitlists, lack of follow-up options, and low visibility into emergency services.

Competitive Analysis

I reviewed 4 top healthcare apps to evaluate usability, completeness, and gaps. While they offered strong appointment flows, they lacked emergency service access, nurse hiring, and holistic care continuity.

AcuteCare

Helping to ensure that everyone can have good

Project Description

Acute Care is a mobile healthcare app designed to simplify access to medical services like doctor consultations, medicine ordering, lab test bookings, nurse hiring, and emergency ambulance calls. It’s built for users dealing with the inefficiencies of traditional healthcare — such as long wait times, appointment confusion, and medication inaccessibility.

I led the end-to-end design process — from user research and problem discovery to flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI — to build a seamless, inclusive, and responsive mobile healthcare solution.

Key Design & Research Challenges

  1. Fragmented Experience – Combine appointments, prescriptions, ambulance, and home care into one interface.

  2. Trust & Safety – Ensure verified doctors, prescription-only meds, and fast ambulance services.

  3. Emergency Access – Make ambulance booking and medicine delivery instantly accessible.

  4. Appointment Anxiety – Solve for long wait times and missed schedules with reminders and virtual care.

  5. User Diversity – Build for both tech-savvy millennials and less-digital users with simplified navigation.

What I accomplished

  1. User insight7 Interviews + Competitor study (Mfine, Practo, Apollo 24/7, etc.) revealed unmet needs.

  2. Strategy – Created personas, empathy maps, and user flows to guide feature prioritization.

  3. UX/UI – Built end-to-end flow and over 40 hi-fi wireframes for patient journeys.

  4. Booking flow – Designed real-time appointment & medicine booking with reminders and record syncing.

  5. Health Access Layer – Seamless access to virtual consults, lab tests, nurse care, and ambulance services.
